They’ve finalized the speaker’s list for Personal Democracy Forum 2009. It’s an impressive collection of media, political, business and technology. Yes, a few of us bloggers will be there, too.
My topic is “State and Local Online Politicking: How Community Hubs Can Change the Scene.” I’ll be joined by Chuck Olsen of theuptake.org and Steven Clift, founder and executive director of e-democracy.org.
The future of journalism will be discussed at length and I’m interested to hear what Frank Rich of The New York Times, Karen Tumulty of TIME, Ana Marie Cox of Air America, Brian Stelter of The New York Times, Craig Newmark of Craig’s List, Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight.com, Josh Silver of Free Press, Clay Shirky, Steve Grove of YouTube and Scott Simon of NPR all have to say. They’re speaking as well.
Small world: I’m particularly pleased to see my old friend, Peter Greenberger, is on the bill. I met Peter when we were both working Clinton/Gore ‘96. He currently heads up Google’s governmental affairs group in Washington, D.C. He’ll be talking about online advertising, naturally.
June 29 & 30 if you’re in Manhattan.
