   That is pretty hilarious that somebody thinks that government does not dictate to doctors how to do their job. CMS and medicare are all about telling us how to do our jobs. They inform us how much we can charge for our services. They dictate what services we can provide per visit and where we can provide said service. They have subsequently decided that certain outcomes like infections and falls, what are called known complications, are “never events” and will not pay hospitals for costs related to them. To top it all off, they then empower Recovery Audit Contractors, RAC’s, to come into your office pull your charts and see if you used the wrong wording to describe a service you provided. They will then demand a refund of the money paid for the service. Oh, and they get a cut of the refund so they are incentivized to find this “fraud” as they label it. The government is already dictating what MD’s can do in the currently operating public option and that is why MD’s, such as the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, are leaving medicare in droves.
