Jim Holt for Senate Round 2?

Max Brantley of the Arkansas Times and GOP blogger Jason Tolbert note growing interest by Jim Holt to make another run at the US Senate in 2010. Mr. Holt ran in 2004 against Sen. Blanche Lincoln and lost. While he resides in the GOP stronghold of northwest Arkansas, in 2004 Mr. Holt ran under very favorable circumstances. There was an anti-gay marriage amendment on the ballot in Arkansas and President George W. Bush was running for re-election. He received 44% of the vote, which was not enough to win.

While it would appear to be good news for Ms. Lincoln, the ever-growing GOP field, Stanley Reed and Gilbert Baker in particular, may not welcome his addition nearly as much.
