Third quarter financial numbers are out and Gilbert Baker proves to be substantially ahead of all other Republican challengers. This is no surprise; blogger Curtis Coleman, Conrad E. Reynolds, Tom Cox and Kim Hendren have been relative non-starters from the get-go.

Mr. Baker raised $510,400 and has $503,685 cash on hand.

Mr. Coleman raised $54,085, spent 27,270 and has $31,437 cash on hand. He also has debts $36,405, so technically his campaign is broke. And that’s with former gov. Mike Huckabee’s help.

Mr. E. Reynolds raised a paltry $13,265, a number so bad that he infused $30,000 of his own money into the race. Putting personal money into the race this early is a very, very bad sign. It’s a waste and he should take it back. If can’t do better next quarter, quit.

Mr. Cox’s campaign is also technically broke. He raised $32,712, but spent $34,637. He has $5,332 cash on hand, but has debts in the amount of $13,167, including a personal loan of $7,250.

Barring a remarkable turn of events in the fourth quarter, this Republican primary is over. Mr. Baker is your nominee.
