Finally, the rain stopped in Little Rock. Not like anyone can actually predict the weather these days, but it may be raining this weekend. What will I be doing? Packing up The Think Tank crib, catching a viewing of “Funny People,” crashing a party hosted by TV people, and eating some of Arkansas’s finest organic food. Light blogging, if any, so rest easy.

Here’s what I cared about today:

Kill It!: State sen. Sue Madison readies a bill to repeal the enacting legislation for the Arkansas lottery. Put another way, if her bill passes the Arkansas lottery would die. It was only a matter of time before someone came forth with a bill like this. Regardless of what happens, it’s another distraction for the embattled lottery director, Ernie Passailaigue.

Mike Beebe’s ‘Miami Vice’ Moment: Governor Mike Beebe returned from Cuba late last night. He was down there talking trade relations. What we all want to know is if the mojitos truly are better down there.

So Long, Stovall: Stephens Media reporter Zack Stovall bounces up the river to St. Louis for love and steady pay. John Brummett is inconsolable.

Money Talks: Former House speaker Newt Gingrich has $8 million in his PAC account. Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee has, well, a lot less than that. Super blogger Jason Tolbert is distraught.

Radio Free Think Tank: Beginning August 16 on 103.7 The Buzz. Lance Turner, nice guy that he once was, closed the door on what slim guest appearance opportunity remained.

The Arkansas Project Turns One: Congratulations to David Kinkade for making it through one year of blogging in Arkansas. Fun, ain’t it?

Mike Ross, Media Darling: The Washington Post, Politico, Talking Points Memo. The Arkansas congressman and Blue Dog coalition leader may come out ahead when the health care reform dust settles. Apparently the deal is done in the House.

E-mail of the Day: Confucios say: “Baseball wrong. Man with four balls cannot walk.”

Quote of the Day: You’re fascinated by the gory details! You’re mesmerized by your own fear. You revel in floods, car accidents, unstoppable diseases, you’re happiest when others are in pain. That’s where I come in isn’t it? I’m here to lead you by the hand through the dark forest of your own hatred and anger and humiliation! – - Barry Champlain played by Eric Bogosian in the film “Talk Radio,” directed by Oliver Stone.

Think Tank out.
