A few weeks ago I posted a note that a film was in the works on the founding of Facebook. It’s based on the book, “The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook: A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal” by Ben Mezrich. I bought the book last weekend, but I have not had a chance to read it. Anyway, Jeff Wells who runs an excellent film blog, Hollywood-Elsewhere.com, reports today that there is a better-than-decent chance that David Fincher (of “Se7en,” “Fight Club” and “Zodiac”) will direct the film. I can dig it despite my hatred of Mr. Fincher’s last effort (and, sadly, his only Oscar-nominated film), “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Who will play Mark Zuckerberg? Mr. Wells reports that Shia Lebouf and Michael Cera are the leading contenders.

You post this knowing it haunts me, but now that I know Mezrich wrote the book (I’ve read Bringing Down The House multiple times) and that Fincher may direct (Fight Club is one of the few movies I actually own), I may have to consider at least reading the book. I didn’t go see “21″ or whatever it was called. While I may deem the book and movie to be a foolish topic, it may be interesting from the business side of things or maybe I just need to get over my dislike of Facebook.
