[...] As I wrote yesterday, Judge John Fogleman of Marion announced today that he’s running for the Arkansas Supreme Court. As I also noted he gained notoriety for his prosecution of the West Memphis Three, a case that has come to life in recent months as lawyers for all three men seek new trials based on new evidence. The case was national news back then, and HBO produced a documentary. [...]
I am a retired NY State Police Investigator who was very active in the successful effort to free Marty Tankleff. Marty was falsely accused of murdering his parents in 1988 at his residence in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY.
Many of us veterans from Team Tankleff are now seriously examining the case of the WM3. I can tell you that there are striking similarities between the Tankleff and WM3 case. What is so tragic and unfair about John Fogelman running for the Arkansas Supreme Court is that none of his egregiously corrupt tactics in framing the WM3 will hurt him politically. Sadly, the unwitting and stupid Arkansas public will most likely elect him. The public seems to love miscreants like Fogelman.
I am really happy that the team that worked on the Tankleff case among many others are working on the wm3 case. This tragically unjust mockery of justice needs to be rectified. I hope that John Fogelman’s bid for Arkansas Supreme Court will not be accomplished. I am hoping that Arkansans will wake up to the fact that this prosecutor is not a fair player.
