Max Brantley, editor of the Arkansas Times and the brains behind the outstanding Arkansas Blog is the 2009 recipient of the Ernie Deane Award for valor in journalism. The award is give by the University of Arkansas and recognizes state journalists or writers whose work best exemplifies the spirit, style and courage of its namesake.
