The Think Tank and Think Tank Sister turned in an appearance at the Blanche Lincoln fundraiser last night at the Peabody Hotel. It was a nice event that was rumored to raise $800,000. As a DC politico friend noted on Facebook:
She’s not really going to have a race unless Huck realizes that there is a zero percent change the GOP nominates him president and he decides to run, right?
Correct. David Kinkade of The Arkansas Project predicted that Mr. Huckabee would enter this race. The Think Tank, despite the prediction, declared Ms. Lincoln unbeatable in 2010. Tim Griffin, what do you think?
And while the rumor mill for a Republican challenger is churning, I noted today there is a large advertisement in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette targeting Ms. Lincoln and Sen. Mark Pryor. In touts Warren Buffett’s opposition to the Employee Free Choice Act.
Which led me to recall this quote from Mr. Biden last night,
You know, I think I’m a pretty good friend of Blanche’s. I think she kind of likes me. She knows I love her. I can ask her for a favor and she can do it. But as vice president of the United States if I ask her to do something she doesn’t think is good for her state, she’s going to smile at me, tell me how much she loves me, and tell me, ‘No.’
Anyone want to take a guess at what he had on his mind?
Also, as I noted on Twitter last night, Stanley Reed, once rumored to be a candidate against Ms. Lincoln, was in attendance with his wife and son last night.
