Clinton in trouble in Arkansas?
Poll numbers suggest otherwise, but according to Political Insider (citing Roll Call), Senator the Democrats in the state’s Congressional delegation “aren’t clamoring to support her 2008 presidential bid.”
The report also notes, “The Clinton campaign is in the process of developing a group of Arkansas Ambassadors — a group of people who will travel around the state and other neighboring states talking about Clinton’s record as first lady. The group is modeled on a group of traveling surrogates who did the same thing for then-Gov. Bill Clinton (D) during his 1992 presidential bid.”
Arkansas is an important state for Clinton, who may be looking to prove that she can win in the South. The best thing she can do is install a political apparatus that knows Arkansas and, more importantly, knows how to win it.
